Music always played a huge part of my life. It’s what keeps me going at full throttle at one moment and helps me battle my demons in others
My favorite medium always was the album: an artist taking you on a curated journey through their mind. But years of using Spotify changed my habits. Now I was creating playlists based on genres or moods, curating a vibe trying to find all tracks that give you THAT feeling. But more and more it progressed into me letting the algorithm suggest to me, what music I need to hear right now. And don’t get me wrong, I found amazing artists and tracks through the algorithm, but I missed the feeling of finding an artist by myself, I missed the feeling of taking out a CD and deliberately playing it.
So in 2025 I made the decision to give up on streaming services and go back to CDs, which rekindled my love for digging and finding those hidden gems.
